Policy for Reciprocity for High School Graduation
If a high school student transfers into an Arizona high school from out-of-state, they will receive a diploma if they meet the following requirements:
- District requirements for graduation AND…
- State requirements for graduation AND…
- Meet the Standards in reading, writing, and mathematics on AIMS HS…
OR
documentation that they have met the passing requirements on the standards-based high school assessment in the state in which they previously attended high school.
- a. this high school assessment must meet the NCLB requirements for standards assessment…
OR
- b. a state must perform as well or better than Arizona on the latest released NAEP results.
- A student is responsible for providing official documentation to the school district to support their request.
