Is Primavera accredited?
Yes!  Primavera Online High School is accredited by the North Central Association (NCA) and the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA).

How much does it cost to enroll?

How do I enroll in Primavera Online High School?
Click on the enroll link and complete an application.  You may also visit our Chandler campus to enroll in person.  Be prepared to submit your birth certificate, proof of immunizations, proof of residence, and an unofficial transcript.

What if I don't have the required documents?
The State of Arizona requires that we collect certain documents for every student who enrolls.  We can help you obtain your documents from previous schools or other sources, but know that there will be a delay in registering if you do not have all of your documents.

Do I need to withdraw from my previous school to enroll at Primavera?
Primavera has several enrollment options.  Most of Primavera's students take all of their classes with Primavera which makes this their "home school."  If you are taking any high school classes at another school right now, that school is your "home school."  If you intend to continue classes at your current school, but also take courses with Primavera, you become a "dual-enrolled" student.  To enroll as a full-time Primavera student, choose "full-time" when you apply.  If you plan to attend another school, while also taking courses with Primavera, choose "part-time" when you apply.

How old can I be?
Currently, we accept students who are age 21 or under at no cost.  If you are over 21, there will likely be a fee involved.  Call us for more information.

What if I was expelled from my last school?
If you were expelled from your previous school please call us to discuss the possibility of enrolling at Primavera Online High School.  Our goal is to help every student succeed, and students are expected to take their education with Primavera seriously.

Do I get to participate in graduation ceremonies?
Absolutely!  Primavera is committed to holding a formal graduation ceremony at least once a year. Information will be provided to you well in advance so that you can make arrangements to participate in graduation ceremonies.

Do I have to complete ALL of my work using a computer online?
For the most part, yes.  Primavera does offer a Physical Education course that requires activity away from the computer.  We also offer several elective courses that may have offline requirements.

Do I have to take my classes at home?
Not necessarily.  Most Primavera students enjoy the flexibility of working at home.  However, some students feel more comfortable in an environment where they can get more one-on-one help.  For those students, Primavera has partnered with organizations such as the YMCA who offer structured lab hours for Primavera students.

How many credits are required by Primavera to earn a High School Diploma?
Primavera offers both a standard high school diploma and an advanced scholastic diploma.  The standard diploma requires 21 credits to graduate.  The advanced scholastic diploma requires 23 credits to graduate.  The difference is that the advanced scholastic diploma allows students to make a direct transition into a college or university.

Will my diploma be accepted by a University?
A minimum of 21 credits are required for the Primavera Online High School diploma. Our scholastic diploma is designed to prepare students to enroll directly into a university upon graduation.  However, you are encouraged to check the admission requirements of any college or university you wish to attend.

Do I still have to take AIMS?
Yes.  AIMS testing is one of the few instances that require you to report in person to a testing site.  We will work with you to help make this process as painless as possible. The State requires that Primavera administer the AIMS test to all students. Per legislative statute, students who fail to take the AIMS test are required to be withdrawn from our program.

Are you a correspondence School?
No.  By definition, a correspondence school requires students to complete work on paper or in workbooks, and mail it to the school.  Typically these schools are out of state.  Primavera is located in Arizona, and while there are some assignments that you may need to send in via postal mail, the majority of your work is completed online.

How do the classes work?
Primavera Online High School utilizes an education portal - it is not software.  You will not need to load any software onto your system in order to participate in classes.  Instead, you will login and work from a course outline.  The courses are designed to be 30 lessons long (each taking approximately 2 hours to complete).  The lessons vary by course, but include reading assignments, interactive Flash videos, multimedia activities and online quizzes.  There will be assignments, such as essays and reports that you should complete and turn in.  Usually students will complete these using Microsoft Word and send them to their instructor via email.  Sometimes students feel more comfortable writing their papers rather than typing them. This is acceptable.

Will I need to install anything on my computer to take Primavera classes?
For the most part, no.  Primavera classes are completely internet-based.  However, the courses have some interactive multimedia aspects that require that your system have Java and Flash Player installed and cookies enabled.  Most user systems already have these items installed, so you might not have to do anything to your computer to get started.

What if I have dial up service?
You can still take classes with a dial-up connection.  You may find that some activities are slower, but you should be able to get access to most of Primavera Online High School's curriculum without a problem.
